Ahh yes. It happens. It happens to all of us. Or at least it happens to some of us. And that probably includes you too. You stop writing because of wondering which topic to focus on. Or may be you are wondering whether to wait a while before deciding on a single theme to write within. A writer’s block usually results from not being able to write: the indecisiveness of not knowing what to write or how to proceed. There can be other reasons, besides a writer’s block, for one to stop writing. Many times, we do know what to write and we keep writing small bits and pieces in our heads. The thing that makes us think more than actually write is the the single big question: should I address all the questions I have about these topics before I start writing?
Is this a good piece of writing? Is this a good topic? Will this specific piece of writing interest others? Does it interest you and me? Should we focus on the topic that the neighbor would like, or should we focus on the topic that someone online would prefer? Should we simply take some time off and focus on thinking more about the topics that are coming to our minds?
What to do with the writing topic?
And what to write about the topic once we know the topic? The topic of making money online, for example, can be addressed in so many ways. Do we start writing about the benefits of making money online? Or do we write about the 20 different ways you can make money through blogs? Or do we write about the sinful shame that any writer should feel if he or she writes for money? Yes, the choices may seem limitless, even though the energy to instantly start focusing and writing on a single topic may seem limited. Do you overcome such a limit by turning off the monitor as David Risley suggests?
So what actually happens when we cannot write anymore? We wonder about what can be a good topic that can revolve around the topics we know. We go around other blogs, finding out what they are writing. We go to Facebook or Twitter to find out what people are liking or whining about. And we go to MySpace to see what people are venting and expressing about. And we go to BrightKite to see where people get different ideas to write something. We also ask others to suggest some ideas about what to write about. Many look for ways to be inspired to write, while many others simply write about anything, with or without inspiration among other things.
Do you start now? Or do you start later?
And in the end, when we finally have a topic, or some reason, or some thought to think about, we wonder about something: do we start writing now, or do we wait for the right moment? We also juggle the daily chores thrown at us by others and also try to focus on something other than writing, since focusing on things that can be easily accomplished on a short notice and within a short span of time may be better in our perspective. Or in our minds at least. We keep hearing from many people: “Just start writing! Let it flow! Write write write.” Many people who make money writing say that. And you wonder: “But I do not just want to write anything. I want to write something good. Something special. Something that I think is worthy, even if it is not good and special. Something that I may even think is not worthy. Something that I feel I should or should not be writing.“
And while we wonder about such things, we may start to realize that any piece of writing may have some reason or thought behind it. That all writing, including this article itself, may be the result of at least two actions: a thought or a reason, and the keystrokes [or the flow of the pen in other situations].
What do you do when you stop writing?
What do you do when you cannot continue writing a letter, e-mail, or something else? What are some ways you try to overcome the times when you want to write, but feel like you cannot? Do you ever come across situations where you want to write and you know what to write, but many reasons, like having to many things to choose from to write, make you think more and not write?
Please let me know what you think. Thank you for reading.
I now have to stop here and go through my list of other topics to publish.1

Do you try to distract yourself with other thoughts, or does the passing-on happen without your intervention?

I hate those periods but I don't quit, I keep typing even it doesn't makes sense. What I think of is that I still have enough time the next day for editing and proofreading.

That happens to me, too! And yes what you write were all true. Whatever it may be there must be a reason why?.
When I'm tempted to stop, I try hard not to give in with the feeling. I make it a point to finish an article a day. It doesn't matter if it's a good article or not. What's important is I wrote something.

I donot like writting too much . So it's no wonder that I seldom expree myself in words.
Go to your favorite calm place, take some time to gather some topics and then take your pen and paper. because, only in a calm environment our minds will work faster and we'll get more ideas.
If we write everyday of our lives, especially if it is for longer durations everyday, we tend to be brain drained for knowledge at times thus we stop writing.
I think you search piece full space where nobody can disturb you, where you can actually goes into your imagination and write the perfect scenario what you exactly want to describe the people about your subject. :pig2:
