You probably notice this sign every single day. Some people judge, discriminate, disagree or hate other people simply because those other people do not share the same political beliefs as them. It is like a mind controlling religion, with people being taught to hate everyone who is not affiliated with a certain agenda. It is funny how political parties talk about uniting people within a country under one political party, but rarely talk about uniting people from different parties under one country, or about uniting all people from the world under one planet. Following general example shows how such people act rude when they hear something related to politics that they have strong feelings about. Throughout this post, when I say politics, I will be implying government politics.

A general example of people being rude to others because of politics

You can see these people at bars and parties almost everywhere. They may not even know you, but they will start arguing with you, devoting their entire energy in life to prove that you are wrong and that your political views are wrong. You may not even be talking about other political parties but some good things about something related to the general idea of politics, and these people will jump into your conversations and do their best to disagree with you instead of disagreeing with the topic.

Such people believe more in politicians than their own spouses. They are willing to defend a political idea, created by the political party they love, at the cost of friendships and relationships. An innocent victim may be talking issues like conservatism, liberalism, green party, global warming, war, gun control or something else, and they will end up being insulted or ridiculed in public by a politically moody person who does not know how to control his or her moods when it comes to hanging around people who may have different political views.

A politically moody person values politics over respect for others

In my view, such people allow their strong feelings for their political beliefs to manipulate their respect for other people. The same way as with a few other types of moody people, including religiously moody people, politically moody people do not know how to co-exist with people having different views about different things in this world. They probably want everyone to have the same exact ideas. These types of people will also sometimes discriminate others outside of parties simply because of their own obsession with politics, and because of their inability to accept the fact that someone else may have a different view about something. Such politically moody people even get upset because someone may not have any political views about something.

Having thoughts that everyone should have the same exact thoughts is better than actually harassing and being rude to innocent people simply because they say something about politics that you yourself do not believe in. You are simply a moody person who allows political views to control your moods and in turn allow your moods to control your interactions with other people. You probably need to grow up, as everyday people will say a dozen things that you would not believe in. That does not mean you can become moody and start being rude or discriminatory to those people. You are probably only dependable to the political party you believe in; everyone else should stay away from you, as you value political ideas more than respect for life, and probably life itself.

Vera suggested this sign as she also experiences this from time to time. You may be a moody person if you say different things from time to time to other people, and then regularly not stand by what you said. You tell people things you will either do or plan to do, and other people start doing things also because of what you say. Later on, you just change your mind for no good reason, and other people end up wasting their time and thus avoiding you later on as you are simply a person who says things without meaning them. Take a look at the following example, where I briefly describe a situation I go through every week where I meet such moody people.

An example of how some people ask me to be part of online projects when they really aren’t serious

I get at least 2 online proposals every week by people who ask me to either guest blog or be part of a writing project somewhere. Recently, I got an online proposal to help someone work on a book about blogs. I agreed, since I am myself writing a book on blogs. I worked on ideas and writing styles for her book for almost 3 weeks, putting work for my own book aside. Each week, I would e-mail her some updates. Three weeks later, after I had done a lot of work, I got an e-mail from her saying something along the lines of “Wow, you have done a lot, I was traveling and do not know if I may be able to start this book this year. I will keep you updated! Thanks.” Here is the funny thing: she had asked me to help her before as she was “desperate“, and told me to start right away if I could. After I did all the work, not only had she not done anything, she was not even serious about writing a book yet.

You may be allowing either happy or negative moods to affect your commitment to what you say

Regardless of the exact reason that makes you not stick by what you say, you are simply not a dependable person. You may be having negative mood swings when you change your mind. For example, you might wake up and find something really unpleasant in your home, and allow that unpleasant feeling to change your mind and plans completely, even if you made sure other people plan their parts of life around your plans. That makes you a person who lets emotions take over your actions and interactions with others completely.

Also, you might be having positive mood swings when you plan things. For example, you might feel happy and excited about something, and thus may start thinking positively too much without planning things. Along the way, you may start telling other people things that later, after your happy mood swing has gone away, you simply forget or do not stand by. This results in people wondering if you are simply a liar or a person who can never be trusted.

Forgetting to do something can be ok, but changing your mind simply because of your moods is a sign that you are not good at interacting with others, and are letting your moods take over your ability to decide on things. Such a kind of moodiness makes you untrustworthy, unfortunately, since other people realize that in the long run you say things without actually meaning them.

You may be a moody person if you act nicely only around publicly known rich and prominent people, while acting rude on purpose around other people simply because of the fact that those other people are not rich or do not talk about ways to make money. You may think that being nice only to prominent people is the same as looking up to a role model. It is not the same thing. Looking up to people does not mean you have to be rude to innocent people you barely know, like the people who do not blog about ways to make money. Following is a simple example of how such people are simply moody because of their own frustration of not knowing how to communicate effectively with everyone.

Example of the world of online blogging and commenting where you act nice only on prominent blogs and are responsive only to comments by prominent bloggers

You may see this online all the time. Many bloggers and commentors will go around commenting only on blogs run by really rich or really famous bloggers who talk about ways to make money. At the same time, these bloggers and commentors will either ignore or act rude towards everyone else who is not so rich or famous. The way these people act rude is by disagreeing and making the not so prominent or not so rich people look bad, not replying to their e-mails or comments in a nice way, or even by ignoring them completely, while at the same time treating any comment, blog post or e-mail by a prominent blogger with extreme happiness and respect. These people simply do not treat all online people equally.

Sucking up to rich and prominent people may be fine, but don’t pass on your rudeness and moodiness onto other innocent people

You are simply a moody person who does not know how to act around people who do not talk about the thing you are obsessed about: money. Online, you value five comments or e-mails consisting of only “hi” by rich bloggers more than 10 detailed, informative and useful comments or e-mails by everyone else. The mere fact that you cut off ties with people who do not claim to make a lot of money while shielding the rich and prominent people from your rude character means you have personal issues, and you are venting your inner frustration on innocent people who, in your view, are not out there trying to make you money. That is pure moodiness mixed with some kind of a psychological disturbance within you, in my view.

4 : You act moody around all people who do not share the same religious views as yourself.

You are the 4th type of moody person if you love interacting with Christian or Muslim or Jewish or other religious people that you do not even know personally, and at the same exact time, you act rude to people who do not share the same religious beliefs as you. Your rudeness and quietness are not signs of professionalism; they are signs of moodiness that is springing towards extremism, where someone innocent who has done you no direct or indirect harm is getting discriminated by you. You are simply a moody religious person who does not know how to interact with others. Take a look at the following example, which shows you how being obsessed with religion, even indirectly, can not only make you moody, but also make you hurt others.

Example of a religious girl being moody because of being obsessed with religion

I will keep the name of the specific religion out of this example, as I do not want to bash any specific religion. Someone I counseled long time ago told me that she was in a happy marriage with a husband and even had a 3 year old daughter when she converted to another religion. Because of her love for that new religion, she would act upset and distant around her family members all the time. In the end, she started asking her family members to convert also. The result? A divorce, and the husband kept the daughter.

She married again and now has a new family. However, she “wonders” if she made a mistake, throwing the lives of her husband and daughter, and the rest of her family, into chaos and turmoil simply because she could not co-exist with people who had different religious views.

Religion may make you moody, but don’t pass that moodiness onto innocent people

I used a very short and extreme example to show the mentality of a religiously moody person. It all started from being moody around people who had different religious beliefs, and ended up hurting everyone. While you may not be going around divorcing people, you may, however, be going around doing other things, like ignoring posts by people not having the same religious views, or even ignoring other innocent people in real life because of your own religion. Such a behavior is a sign of moodiness, which can result in discrimination because of religion later on.

Just like vodka and margarita mixed together makes many people more drunk, you mix your religious moods with your idea that everyone should have the same religion, in order to become the perfect living organism in the universe: The Moody Religious Person [TMRP]. Did I just compare religion with alcohol? Yes, I did. Is that going to make you TMRP? I hope not. If it does, then you need to breathe slowly and communicate with me. Let me know what made you moody. 3 : You act rude only around people of a certain sex

If you act rude around a certain sex all the time, you may be a moody person on your way to being a person who discriminates. Because of some past experience, you are being moody and rude to all the people of that specific sex. Consider the following examples that will show why such a behavior makes you a moody person, and why such a thing can turn you into a person who discriminates.

How bad relationships caused a guy and a girl to hate everyone from the opposite sex

• Moody to all guys: I once helped a friend get out of an abusive relationship where the abuse had resulted in a miscarriage and several permanent scars on her body. She does not even feel comfortable shaking hands with guys anymore. Even though she likes hanging out with me, she will think twice before wanting to even hug or something. She thinks every guy [probably except me] is out to torture and then abuse women in relationships.
• Moody to all females and relationship: One of my previous housemates had a huge crush on one of his classmates for more than a year. Finally, one day, while drinking with her and her friends, he hinted openly that he would love to date her. The girl just responded with a “HAHA” and carried on with another topic, resulting in everyone laughing at the guy. Even though it was not intended as an insult, he took it to heart. From that day onward, he looked at girls as being “slutty” sex objects, and every relationship as either a one-day or even a one-week stand.

Past experiences can make you so moody, you might start discriminating against a specific sex

In my view, both of the above cases are examples of allowing your past to make you moody, and to allow such moodiness to affect and control your life. That is a disability, unfortunately, as it may result in you discriminating against innocent people. Bad experiences can cause people to feel moody around some people, but their own actions result in them hating and discriminating innocent people. In my view, you should avoid having relationships with such people unless you are willing to help them with their moodiness. Why? Because they are confused and unstable in at least the arena and concept of relationships, and they need serious help.

2 : You tend to be rude to new people because of personal issues not related to them

The 2nd biggest sign that you are a moody person is that you act very rude and distant towards new people. Whether you meet someone in person, through a blog comment or via some instant messenger, you act rude and distant, trying your best not to communicate effectively with them. You may call yourself a professional or a careful person in such cases, because you act “distant.” I think such qualities make you more insecure and childish instead. Why? Consider the following example that I ran into before, which will show you why acting in such a way means you do not know how to communicate with new people because of feeling insecure for various reasons.

An example of a girl I knew who acted rude only around new people

I once knew a girl who would act nice around everyone she already knew. At the same time, however, she would act rude around new people. She would meet people for the first time even at her family gatherings and be rude to them. She would disagree with them, ignore them, or even insult them. At first I used to think that she probably had stress from her work or classes, and she was letting off her stress on innocent people. However, I soon realized that the new people themselves were somehow, indirectly of course, triggering something inside of her that made her act rude towards every new person who crossed her path.

One day I brought up the issue indirectly, talking about one of the “new” people she had argued with recently. She told me that because of her past relationships with both friends and boyfriends, she did not trust people easily. I realized that even though she had gone through bad experiences, her inability to control her sadness and anger due to past memories was making her act rude and moody in front of new people, and that was no one else’s fault but her own. That was also probably, and unfortunately, a psychological issue that she needed help with. It was hard for her to make friends, but it was easy for her to insult people. Think about it: would you want to be friends with such a person yourself?

Letting your inner fear and rudeness affect innocent strangers around you will result in all your relationships getting affected negatively

If you are a person who exhibits the above mentality or characteristic, you may be mistaken that just because you are hurt, or even because you may be hot or intelligent, you do not need to smile and act nice towards new people who have done you no harm whatsoever. It just shows that probably one of the two things happened during your childhood:

1. You did not learn, nor were you taught, to respect new people that you met
2. You ignored the lesson of respecting new people you met

Either way, you probably have a serious problem. Some people even go the opposite way and act rude simply because they think they can. Now, you may be a gangster who acts rude around new people and says “I don’t give a damn what people think!” Well, my gangster-wanna acquaintance, if you were a gangster, why would you be feeling uncomfortable or different meeting new people in the first place? You are not a gangster. You are a punk. Really!

Acting moody in front of new people all the time is a serious problem that you need to address

It does not matter whether you act moody in front of new girls because your past experience tells you that acting serious and macho will help you find dates, or if you want to act moody in front of new guys because your past experience tells you that they all want to have sex with you. The fact that you act moody when meeting new people, for any reason, whether sad or not, shows that you do not know how to act when you meet new people, and thus you let your inner moodiness, no matter why it exists, to take over your interactions with new people. That is a serious problem you need to address, or at least realize and keep in mind.

1: You act rude openly when you do not need something from others.

The biggest sign that you are a moody person, horrible at communicating with others, is that you become friendly and nice during times when you need something from others. Otherwise, you act rude and distant, and such a rudeness and distance is obvious and visible to everyone. Now, you may think you are smart. Who wouldn’t think they are smart because they know how to act nicer in order to get things from people, right? Consider the following example of someone I knew before, which will show you why such a moodiness does not mean you are smart, but that you have psychological issues.

An example of a moody guy who acted nice only when he wanted something from me

This guy I knew from a community college class worked at a restaurant near the college as a waiter. He was the type of person who could not feel comfortable around people who were not from his own ethnic background. He acted like a gangster when he was surrounded by 20 people from his own ethnicity. Whenever he was alone, however, he only found the concept of moodiness to be his true friend.

Every time I ate there, the guy’s mood would swing from one extreme to the other, depending on whether or not he wanted something from me. If he did not need anything from me one day, he would not only avoid serving my table that day, but he would also avoid looking at me at all, as if he did not notice me. Whenever he needed some computer help, he would serve my table or bring some juice for free. He would ask me about my health and about my off-campus activities. He would then always ask me about the computer issue he was having. I would always think to myself at that very moment, “Aaah! The reason he is so happy and nice today is because he needs something, I see.” After he would get what he wanted, he would act happy around me for the rest of the day.

However, if I ever told him I did not know what the solution to his computer problem was, he would end the conversation within five minutes: guaranteed. He would always say “Oh wait, I have to serve a customer.” and then run away. He would then never come back, nor even look at my table, for the rest of that day.

I would always think to myself: “If he just knew how to use people perfectly, it would at least make him look smart. The way he acts right now, he just looks psychologically disturbed or even stupid as he does not know how to control his moodiness.”

Such an open and uncontrollable moodiness can be a handicap!

Imagine someone with such a handicap! They are moody because of not feeling comfortable over something, yet they are willing to hide that moodiness only when they need something from someone. Forget discrimination or racism; such people have something disturbed in their biological system, deep down inside their brain. They do not know how to act normal in front of people, yet they try to use other people, which is weird. If you do not know how to act normal in front of people, you cannot get away with the selfish act of trying to use people by acting nice to them. You will only look stupid, unfortunately. Or should I say fortunately?

1st type of moody person cannot hide moodiness when trying to be evil, and thus has a psychological issue

Here is a revelation for you: if you are the type of person I described above, you are not smart because anyone like me can figure that such people act nice only when they need something. If you were good at using other people, you would make sure no one realizes that fact. Not only that, the mere fact that you are not good at using people and yet you still want to use people shows that you want to use people whenever you feel like it, but your moodiness is hindering your efforts. Unfortunately, that is like a double whammy right in your own face!

What does this “double whammy” mean? Well, it means you have a psychological issue where your inability to communicate effectively with people combines with your mood swings to result in people figuring out that you act nice to them only when you need something. Tsk tsk.

My friend was asking me if I thought the co-worker was an evil woman, as she first “flirted” with him, “indirectly seducing” him as a tease, and then simply moved on when he showed interest. I said “I do not think, it makes her any of those things, though I may be wrong.” I was looking at my food when my friend asked me “Why does she not respect the fact that I was being professional back then?” I looked at my friend. That was the time I either told him the truth because he was comfortable asking me for advice, or that was the time I acted like a typical contact who agreed with everything he said and showed sympathy on everything. I said “In my view, you were not being professional back then. I think you were being a moody bitch instead to someone innocent who was not responsible or even award of things happening with your family. Would you respect someone like that yourself if you were in her position?”

Many people hide their inability to communicate well behind the concept of professionalism

That is the truth of life, and the biggest myth of professionalism. People act serious, moody, weird, strange, rude, and they label it all as being professional or something else so that they can pretend to get away with their actions and moods. Professionalism has nothing to do with communicating your emotions with others. Professionalism also has nothing to do with the office culture. Professionalism means that you are willing to express what you want in order to help yourself and someone else without letting either your or someone else’s personal life, completely unrelated to the task at hand, affect the involved parties. I talk to at least 10 or so people daily, and many of them act moody almost everyday in one way or another.

The funny thing is, most of these people say they are being professional when they act moody. They may become quiet or distant all of a sudden, and they think it is a sign of professionalism, to not talk too much. They may avoid talking to bloggers who do not share the same religion and they think that is professionalism. They may only comment on blogs by certain people who agree with them, and not respond to others at all and still consider it professionalism. The biggest joke is this: these people sometimes act serious or very rude in their comments to other bloggers, and they think it is professionalism at play. No, that is not professionalism; that is your bad childhood at play, the same childhood in which you did not learn how to be respectful even to strangers.

10 points in 10 posts in 10 days - 10 signs that you may be moody

Starting from tomorrow, I will write a post a day, outlining 10 posts in total that talk about signs that may classify you and me as being moody. Each day I will give you a real life example of someone acting moody, and I will also tell you what I think about it. I may not express real names or blog urls, but many of you may know who I am referring to. Here is an interesting fact: there is nothing wrong with being moody. Almost everyone is moody everyday. But when your moodiness starts affecting other people through your interactions and dealings with them, you are allowing your inner emotions affect other people, which is unfair to those people.

So please stay tuned. From tomorrow, I will talk about some very weird things that you may find very typical and common, but if you pay close attention, you will see moodiness sprinkling all over some people, resulting in nearby people also getting some of the moodiness sprinkled on them.

Wait! What happened to my moody “bitch” friend?

As for my friend, he was shocked to hear my answer. He asked me what he should do. I told him to simply apologize to her in person and explain everything, and then to move on. He thanked me, and did exactly that, though very reluctantly. This morning he called me and said that his co-worker had e-mailed him back recently, telling him that she was interested in going to the LA Brea Tar Pits this week as she had time. I doubt they will date or anything, but it is better to be friends than to be enemies. So today, I think they both went to the TAR pits. Sweet, isn’t it? I mean the situation, not the tar, and definitely not the ugly moodiness! =P
