I Stopped Eating Dead Meat This Week

Meat - I stopped eating it this week

I stopped eating meat this week. What are you eating?

Earlier this week I was introduced to a link by @Aazzure, or Azure, on Twitter. Azure usually shares very awesome videos with me that focus around the concept of life, today’s societies, the world we live in, how we really live, and other similar things.

Well, the link Azure introduced this time focused around animals. I clicked the link and saw that a video, almost around 2 hours long, start playing on a site titled “EARTHLINGS.” I immediately clicked the main home page link on that site to check summarized info somewhere so that I could know what was playing instead of watching the entire thing first. Well, the home page itself started playing a short trailer. The trailer was around 2 minutes long, I think. 1 minute and 24 seconds into the trailer, if I remember correctly, I made the most drastic decision of my life. It was June 8th, 2010.

I decided to stop eating meat.

Why do you sympathize with suicide attempts only if they involve celebrities?

Halle Berry - She attempted suicide in 1996

Halle Berry attempted suicide in 1996

Life. Many seem to have it. Many more seem to want it. And many seem to let go of it. Suicide. Suicide is a word that is feared by many people. Even though suicide may take more courage and energy than the lifetime struggles of a person, suicide is usually seen in the Western parts of the world as being one of the last, cowardly resorts to give up the idea of dealing with hardships in life.

Today I want to bring up the question of how we deal with someone who has attempted suicide. To be precise, I want you to think about your behavior over celebrities attempting suicide. Why do you, or others, sympathize with celebrities who try to commit suicide, and why do you, or others, laugh, ridicule and classify as psychotic almost all the non-celebrities who try to commit suicide?

Is a suicide attempt by a celebrity different from other suicide attempts? Do you treat celebrities who attempted suicide the same way you would treat a non-celebrity hospital patient who attempted suicide? Why, and why not?

Why do we frown over suicide in general?

Spying on Myspace users? (by Lorri37)Today and tonight, millions of people across the world will be getting ready for a job interview tomorrow. You yourself may be thinking of your next job, or thinking of your performance at your existing place of work. At the same time, you may probably be wondering as to how a future interviewer, employer, or an existing employer may view your job integrity based on how you act outside of work. In today’s world, where the online activities seems to be slowly getting more attention than life itself in several circles, many people say that it is important for you to realize how your online activities can hurt your existing or future job opportunities. I want to ask you if you think employers and interviewers should pay any attention to your online social profiles which reside outside of your work.

Today I ask a very important question that applies directly to you: Should employers and interviewers look at your MySpace, Facebook, Flickr and other social online profiles in order to judge your work and related performance and integrity?

Poll for you and your future and existing job:

Having more disagreeing friends than friends who agree with you can be better

Many of us have them. Many of us want them. I am talking about friends. Usually, people consider others who agree with them a lot to be their good friends. In my view, we should have friends whether or not they agree with what we think. In fact, I would suggest having more friends who disagree with you than friends who agree with you on most things. Considering someone a good or trustworthy person simply because they agree with you a lot means you do not like people who have the strength to tell you that you may be wrong.

Begging for money while listening to your iPod

People usually make money through two ways. One is through work, and the other is through asking for money. Working usually requires working for a specific task and getting compensation in return. Asking for money usually occurs when one asks someone for money. One is usually borrowing money when asking for it from others. People tend to think that borrowing money is justified simply because of the severity of a situation. Many people do not stop to think that the assets they already have can be sold for cash, like laptops, iPods, or even small things like watches. People are not willing to part with these expensive things simply because of the convenience of having them, yet they expect others to make a sacrifice by giving them money.
