If I could, I would spend all nights in the fog. Until, of course, I see someone with a hook.

Page issues on November 10th 2005 - fixed

Posted in Site & Other updates by Bes on Nov 11, 2005

If you use IE a lot, you may have experienced some issues viewing this site; the site may have looked strange, or you may have seen some errors on different parts of the site. Everything has been fixed now.

It started happening early this morning, as far as I know, when the site was rendering differently in different browsers all of a sudden. I traced the problem back to the small image you see on the left hand side, which is a preview of one of the items from the gallery. The page may have not loaded entirely in such cases, or may have different sections of the site aligned in a weird way, as the following picture shows:

<%image(20051112-design-issues-on-ie-11-11-05.JPG|400|320|Visual issues in IE)%>

I have fixed the issue now; everything should be looking perfect and acting the same way in almost every browser [as far as I know]. If you notice anything weird still or have any questions or comments, please let me know. Thanks. :)

I didn’t notice anything like that. The entries just haven’t been loading. :-( It works fine now though.

  2. Bes :

Yes, different things were happening. I hope everything is fixed now.

I am getting so sick of IE. I’m getting tired of creating sites that have to be downgraded for IE. I noticed on my laptop that in IE my pink layout is not right though I jumped through hoops to make it work when I created it and it looks okay on the desktop. *sigh*

Yes, IE keeps rendering everything so differently. So many places in the CSS code having their own ids and classes meant for IE alone, while every other browser lives happily by following a standard.
I just looked at your site via IE, and that’s the exact problem I was having [as the above screen shows]; non-alignment for some reason. For me, it was the widths of a few things, and it was fixed finally. I hope you get it to work, otherwise, don’t worry about it that much; IE should fix their browser, not us changing our websites to make IE happy. [did I ever tell your has one of the most beautiful designs I've seen?]
