SBC rewards new and former customers through price drops and referrals
If the news of SBC lowering their “SBC Yahoo! Dsl” prices to $14.95 per month sounds like a good deal, their referral rewards program may sound even better.
For all the times you recommended SBC to other people, here’s a chance to try to get them to go to the above site and enter your recommendation # to see if you can get rewarded.
You will get $25 for “each successful SBC Yahoo! DSL, SBC|DISH Network Satellite Television and SBC Long Distance referral”, according to the SbcReferral.com website. You can also call 1-877-Sbc-Rwds to earn the rewards or to get your referral number.
As for the $14.95 per month for DSL, it is now cheaper than majority of the dial up internet services in the country, including SBC Yahoo! Dial service, which costs $15.95 per month. The Pro dsl plan has been reduced to $24.95 per month.
SBC says on their website that the new pricing is just for new customers. However, existing customers can have their current prices “rerated” to the new pricing plan; the difference would be that your contract will start again from the moment the new pricing is assigned to your account. You can call their DSL customer support number 1-877-722-3755, and ask for the “Customer retention department” [or call that department directly at 800-579-7861 or 213-339-9910, or 714-339-7529] to talk to any agent in that specific department to have your price changed from your current price to the new special. Remember, be polite at all times. If the “rep” on the other end of the line will not change your price or you are not being transferred to the retention department without headaches, you can always call back again within a few minutes to talk to someone else who may be “nicer.”
