its a good article, i believe that, we talk hardly to our distance relative or friends due to contact no. changed or email id or may be busy schedule, even sometime we forget our old best friends or may be lost our friends. I also found a article where you find your lost beloved one..

Ronald, thanks for sharing. Yes, that is what I meant by distant, that one does not talk to them too much, and I have updated the article too, thank you. :)

Skype and a webcam do indeed bring voice and visual communication into the online communication blend. If you have a chance of not visiting someone because the drive there is boring [meaning you can drive for a few hours to meet them], would you prefer SKype'ing with that someone simply because of the boring drive?

Lol @ "logistics." That is true, and an important thing to consider, specially when two different people can have a different perception and preparation for the meeting.

Bes,

I assume you mean distant relatives as in you hardly talk to them. My distant relatives are distant because they live so far away. I have talked to a few of them online, but that is few and far between. And most of my relatives don't get online unfortunately.

I prefer talking on the telephone, but even that can get old after a while. And I despise e-mail for inter-family communication. If anything, a nice one-on-one with Skype and a webcam is a nice substitute for visiting. I kept up with a friend in Germany for a year doing that, and recently talked with a relative doing the same. It's awesome how you can be a half-world apart, but be connected via the Internet.

Meeting a relative (who lives far away) requires a lot of logistics, but meeting a relative online requires an Internet connection and a little know-how.
