Question: Why are you online at this very moment?
Today’s question is very simple and very important one. You are most probably online at this very moment, while you read these very words. My question to you is: Why are you online at this very moment?
Finding out why you are online at this very moment
Would it not be very nice and so productive to realize the exact reason or reasons you came online to be online at this very moment? Once you realize the reason or the answer to this question that applies to you, you can realize how much you depend on the online world. That can help in realizing whether or not you can easily switch the online world for you whenever you consider it to be unnecessary, by finding out the offline replacements and alternatives to the very online reasons that make you go online in the first place.
Allow me to give some example answers and reasons to help you figure out this question more. Please feel free to be as brief or as explanatory in your answer as you wish.
Two of the many ways to see why you are online
There are many ways to answer such a question. One way is to try to look at the reason of why you are online. Are you online to:
- make (more) money?
- check your e-mails?
- be more satisfied because you thought being online can or would be interesting?
- find something related to school/university, work, or something else
- talk to someone, to tell someone something, to find out more about them or to tell them more about you
- see how the supposed wisdom and knowledge of the author of these words can help improve your life and thinking, or confuse your more?
Another way to answer this question is by the actual outcome of mood you are seeking due to your online activity. Are you online in order to:
- distract yourself from something in the offline world?
- be even more happier?
- be sadder?
- be confused?
- be more confused and happy?
Why are you online at this very moment?
So, why are you online at this very moment? I am online mainly because I am waiting to talk to someone. I am also online to check e-mails, send out some important messages, be even more happier and confused, do some things offline and the computer is nearby, write something offline, write this question on the computer, among many other things online and offline. I am also online because I am hungry.

1. To check my e-mails
I am an e-mail whore and I LOVE reading and writing e-mails. I met some fabulous people through craigslist and I found that e-mail was the best way to get to know them a little before meeting them in person. Thank God for new amazing friends!!!!!!
2. To find something related to school/university, work, or something else.
I’m looking for a job. So far so good!
3. To Talk to someone, tell someone something, to find out more about them or to tell them more about me.
I do most of my socializing online….sad…I know….but I’ve been doing the “online thing” for over 10 years! I have met some fabulous people through various online communities. My online friends seem to be more “normal” and sane then the one’s in real life.
4. To read blogs…..including this one
I am addicted to blogs! I spend most of my evening sitting out on the deck browsing and reading my favorite blogs.
5. Last but not least, to distract myself from something in the offline world.
My dad is sick. He has been sick for a few months. My greatest fear is losing my dad. Right now he is in the hospital awaiting surgery on Friday. The surgery is very risky. 50% of patients who have this surgery end up with a major life threatening complication. It hurts to even think about it. So I sit online all day to numb my mind and avoid thinking about the fact that my dad may have cancer or may die.

I am online cause the internet is full of information. I am online for around 12 hrs a day. There is a lot of new things out there to learn. You can almost gather anything from the internet, it is amazing.

I’m online right now for work, but also multitasking and catching up on reading blog posts. When I’m at home, I’m usually online so I can talk to friends that live in other states.

I’m sort of procrastinating. It starts like that: i have to do some graphic work, go to google to search for some idea or image, while browsing the serps i find something interesting remotely related to what i was searching, start reading then find in the page another very interesting link, follow that link and end up forgetting was i was searching in the first place. It happens once every month or so. i think it’s a way for the brain to relax!

I’m online looking for inspiration. I write for a living so I’m in constant need of inspiration and new ideas.
Of course it’s easy to lose hours, if not days, wandering around the web. If it’s for pleasure or as a distraction then so be it. But, if you’re blogging or using social media for work I think you need a clear goal in mind - and be prepared to commit to that goal and the long-term effort it requires.

When I saw casas rurales cuenca’s message, I recalled that my siblings and I did get up at 3:30 am when I was a child. My parents are farmers, and that’s why we should pick the vegetaables, such as lettuce ,patoaoes and cucumber we planted. However, my parents are not young anymore, so they don’t get up so early in recent years. I simply want to share this information. That’s all. Now I’m online because I am day off today and I like to surf the websites I love when available.
