Opera giving away free registration codes
This came as a surprise; Opera is giving away free registration codes to use it’s beautiful and powerful browser [without the ads]. The offer comes as it is the 10th anniversary for Opera, and the codes can only be obtained until the end of the day, according to Opera.
Signup and get your free registration code if you wanted to use Opera without the banners. So far, Opera is not getting the “huge” response to the codes that it was hoping for, since it wasn’t publicized that much before today.

I only use Opera for testing sites - to make sure they’re compatible everywhere other than FireFox (which is what I use). But I’ve always hated the ads, of course. So I am now ad-free, as of this morning.

I just love Opera. If browsing speed and amount of memory consumed are the priorities then Opera is the best choice.
The disadvanctages are that it does not support high end scripting (JavaScript)..
Once upon a time Opera was the only browser which supported all the CSS properties, but it is not so now…

Lol…for a moment there, I thought you wrote Oprah.

Valerie –> I started doing that a year ago too, and the ads were a bit of a nuisance. Now, it seems a bit interesting to use it compared to IE at least. : )
Sawai –> Yes, Firefox [and Safari on Mac platforms] have taken over the lead from Opera when it comes to standards, as far as I know. However, I think Opera is definitely better than IE. I saw an option in Opera to "classify" it as either Firefox or Internet Explorer; I have yet to try it. If I can use that to download updates, IE will start getting rust on my computer.
Birdie –> Heaven forbid; what gave you that idea?
Do you like that show?

Sawai: Opera 8 supports a lot of scripting. I’m not sure what exactly you mean by "high-end".
As for the CSS, I think Opera, Gecko and Safari are competing quite evenly. I believe Opera is still ahead on implementations of things like CSS counters and generated content.

Hallvord: In GMail when we reply to a mail which has image content in it, the reply box will not show the image but the text only.
There are minor repainting problems in Google personal homepage.
Button placements in Yahoo mail.
These are small problems which many wont even look at.
I am a regular user of Opera. I am sure Opera is competing. I think it is the only browser with integrated mail, feeds, browsing and torrents (beta) support in one window.
