Getting aggressive for Gmail, Orkut and other invites

Posted in Online by Bes on Mar 29, 2006

To everyone who asks me for an invite to Gmail, Orkut or any other service; if I don’t respond to your email immediately, that doesn’t mean you can send me an email saying “WHY DO YOU SAY YOULL GIVE AN INVITE WHEN IVE BEEN EMAILING YOU FOR DAYS.” You emailed me for the first time 2 days ago, and since then I have 4 emails from you, including the above one. You asked me to do you a favor, so don’t expect it to happen immediately, or even at all.

I’m not obligated to even look at your email, let alone send you a reply or an invite. Even then, you have an invite now since I feel like it. Just control your hormones, and everyone else, if you can’t wait for an invite, don’t ask for an invite. If you’re in a hurry, buy a Gmail or Orkut invite from ebay, or send me $1 via Paypal and I’ll send you an invite immediately. I send invites whenever I check my emails or whenever I have time, or when my Paypal account starts eating your money.

Such topics don’t even deserve a half second analysis, yet I spent this whole post just to explain to you why your attitude is contradictory to common sense and why it’s bad. Why did I write this then? Because I would prefer to have 20 emails from online friends and 1 email complaining about the slow 48 hour response time to your critical invite request email, daily, instead of 20 emails from online friends and 18 emails from different people wanting an invite “NOW!“, every 24 hours.

kaaaapppeeeesssshhhh? Goooood. To everyone else who is nice and polite, or even serious and not like above, you rock, and you have an invite already.

Yeah, the easy way is not to post such a thing in the first place. Hmmm, may be I’ll do what you just said. 8)
