My car battery, odometer & inside lights

My car sounded different today when I turned it on. The ignition itself seemed to resist the temptation to turn on for about half a second. After that, the car was shaking a bit throughout my whole drive. What could be the culprit? Oh what could it be?

I didn’t know, and I kept driving the car. The “Check Engine” sign in my car comes and goes, since I have to replace a tube in the car manually and I haven’t done it. But yesterday, the sign remained on the entire time. What had happened? Later on during the day, I turn around and notice the inside lights in the car, the one that turns on when you open the door, had been on all this time. Somehow that may have put a drain on the battery, I’m assuming. I turned the lights off, wondering when and how I could have left them on the previous day. The “Check Engine” sign is still bright orange, though the car isn’t shaking like before.

Here’s a picture of the check engine sign, and the odometer in my car; this was taken yesterday, April 7th, 2006 while I was stopped at a red light. My car has went with me to many places, and I love it because of that. Hmmmmmmmm.

Perhaps you should rethink driving that thing around until you've had it looked at. :/ Wouldn't want it to break down on you!

JeSs — > yes, I'm going to take it today, hopefully. If not, then tomorrow. Hopefullllllly.

Chelsea — > Yeah, your comment made me think about it [lol]. Hmmmm, still thinking, though without the car I can't get around much. I was going to drive somewhere to eat, but I guess I'll have to walk somewhere for food now [THANKS TO YOU!!!! j/k. :p]. Walking is good. :)

Oh, the same happened in my case. My car was giving me problem, I called battery guys 5-6 times, but they said I need to go to mechanic as there can be alternative or amplifier problem. They didn't even changed my battery, thogh it was in warranty. Finally, mechanic changed the battery and charged me $600. It was a real headach for me.
