If I could, I would spend all nights in the fog. Until, of course, I see someone with a hook.

Ramblings of a Friday the 13th cold

Posted in Life by Bes on Jan 13, 2006

Today is Friday the 13th. This is the day many people love to see, and this is the day many people love to avoid. This is the day when people in hockey masks roam the green and scorched lands looking for their next prey. This is the day when teenagers make out in the woods only to die later on because of someone with a red sweater and long knives for nails. Whatever fear or thought this day may bring, it’s here, and we’ve almost survived the day.

My fear today is of something completely different, something small, and something having an uncertain nature. I don’t know if a very strong cold, fever, sore throat and [gross] runny nose is something to be alarmed about. I went out to buy food and sell some old books I had. I even got a movie gift card, in case I find a good movie and want to see it tonight or tomorrow. Still, my condition keeps getting worse every hour. I woke up around 6 in the morning because someone decided to call me that that time, and I’ve been awake since then.

For me, even with a cold and a little big weary body, today is a really good day. I’ve had time to work on many things that I’ve wanted to work on for weeks now. I hope everyone else had a good day also, and I hope everyone else will survive the day without any scars or a cold. To all the people who want to survive today, the infamous Friday the 13th, keep your windows closed, for not only the monsters tend to come in through that route, but the wold wind and germs also fly in to give you company. Such a company will make sure that you get a cold so severe, you’ll wish you slept on Thursday the 12th and woke up on Saturday the 14th. Such a company will also make sure that you ramble about things online in a very weird manner.

  1. birdie :

I hope you feel better soon. My cold allowed me to catch a very bad rash. I had to wear mittens for an entire week to refrain from scratching myself to a bloody pulp.
