Now playing: Does Renting Books Really Save You Money?

Thought: Question: Thinking of suing due to lack of harassment, discrimination or opposition?

22 Aug

A few years ago I wrote an article titled “Discrimination against the minority and the majority by the minority in which I had found a small cartoon clip talking about sexual harassment charges stemming from the absence of such a harassment. The clip had a female character basically say to her boss: “All the other women in the office are suing you for sexual harassment. Since you haven’t sexually harassed me, I’m suing you for discrimination.

I was thinking of some things people do sue for and can try to sue someone else for, and thought of making a list of such things to enjoy. Below are 8 such things from that list. Would you think of such a thing, or do you think someone else may think of such a thing? What would be your reaction to any of such feelings if you read them in the news elsewhere? Enjoy, smile, and read on. This is a very rough thought of the question at the moment, and maybe this list can be expanded to a bigger article later on.

  1. You were not sexually harassed. Why? Does the other person think you are ugly or lack something? That is sexual discrimination.
  2. You were not stereotyped at a party where everyone else was stereotyped. Why? That is racism, by ignoring your race completely.
  3. You were not seen as a female sexual object like everyone else. Why? That is anti-feminism.
  4. You were not seen as a stereotypical male who views females as sexual objects. Why? That is anti-feminism too1.
  5. You are a guy and your case for anti-feminism against you thrown out because you are a guy. You sue the state for gender discrimination.
  6. I smile in a comment to someone and do not smile in my comment to you. You sue the other commentor2
  7. Someone does not ask you for your phone number. You feel sexually discriminated and sue them.
  8. Someone asks for your number. You feel sexually harassed and sue them.

So, what do you think? Did you smile, get serious, mad, confused, or something else, as a reaction to any of the above?

Not to worry: I am not thinking of suing anyone who reads this and does not leave a comment. I am also not thinking of suing anyone who reads this and does leave a comment. I think. 0_0

Thanks for reading. : )

    Hi bes,
    I did smile!
This article is somewhat funny….especially about the female character and her boss
in the first paragraph; I couldn’t imagine what the Judges in today’s society
have to deal with and seriously take into consideration because you know, we do
all have rights after all…well, kind of anyway..nevermind. lol
Frankly, in this day and time, I would not be surprised about someone suing
for your 1-8 list. I personally find them insanely funny and
would not even think to, actually come to think about it, I’m not sure I would ever sue someone at all for that matter. I mean, accidents do happen sometimes; and since we are all human beings, we all have been known on occasions to do things and/or actions
sometimes that we just normally wouldn’t do- due to lack of judgement maybe or some other reason. Forgiveness goes along way sometimes.
so I just try to be careful to what I say or how I stare a little too long, or how I walk by someone or well, you get my point. Thanks for the thought provoking articles!

Man I have to say that women have been using this kind of logic for years. My wife twists stuff like do I look fat? You loose no matter what. Good read.

I always wondered how senior citizens could get a discount because of their age when say a single mother of two could not. Is that not age discrimination?

    Greetings,

Your posted topic is well informative.. Anyway, most of your question on the list is very hard to answer because how on how do you able to justify that kind of allegation or question.

You made your point in a humorous but effective manner….

I smiled. It’s one thing to take offense at every action or nonaction directed at you. It’s another thing to set limits and say enough is enough.
