Theatres, teaser trailers and plot outlines
Hi. If you are new here, you may want to read more about me and this site. You can add me on Facebook, BrightKite, MySpace and Twitter. You can also subscribe to the RSS feed if you wish. Thank you for visiting and reading! : ) I really appreciate it.
I like watching some types of trailers at the movie theatres. The trailers [or previews] that I prefer are sort of teaser trailers, not telling you the story, and yet giving you a glimpse of some things that you will see and hear when you watch the actual movie. That’s how all the trailers should be; teaser trailers. I don’t like the idea of watching a trailer and finding out everything that is supposed to happen in the movie. What is the use of watching the movie when you already have the complete story given to you in the trailers? All you are doing then is seeing the missing parts of the complete story that you already know.
It’s like seeing an advertisement for a book and that ad has the entire plot summarized in it, including the plot summary and the ending. What good would that be? That is what happened to many people around the country who were waiting to get the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, when people, who had gotten their hands on the book early and had already read it, spoiled the ending for others, just like the guy who videotaped this prank [streaming video on that page] on those waiting in line to buy the book.
I know that many people, if not the majority, love watching trailers which have all the story explained briefly, and do not like teaser trailers. I would personally like to watch only teaser trailers, and then walk out of the theatre when trailers, which give out the entire movie plot and sometimes even the ending, are playing. However, once you are glued to the seat, it’s hard to get up and walk out, since it would be hard to know when a trailer ended and when a good one [or the main movie itself] started, unless you keep checking, which is not a very efficient thing to do. If you fall into that category which wants to know about movies before watching them, or if you simply want to know the very basics of a certain movie plot [including the ending], you can read MoviePooper, a site that focuses on providing the basic summary of the plot and the ending, so that you are well aware of what the purpose of the movie is. If you want to read all the details of the movie and the different plots and turns within it, then you will like The Movie Spoiler, a site that specializes in analyzing different parts of the movies and provides a part by part tour of the entire movie, from start to the finish, like reading CliffsNotes on a movie.
Remember, do not spoil a movie or book for someone else. Just spoil yourself with the information, and enjoy. As for this site, many of the reviews that I write about some movies contain spoilers, and I will mention that in the review so that you will have ample time to stop reading, or skip a certain paragraph that may have the spoilers. As for myself, I will stick to teaser trailers and finding out no details about movies until I watch them myself.
