If you are bothered by the name of SaveToby.com [the web site, and not Toby himself] every day from different people, you can visit the Hayward rabbit petition to find out more on animal rights in general and abuses against rabbits in particular.

Are online petitions alone really a good way to spread awareness about an issue? It seems like it would also be a good idea to have pamphlets at a live venue. But I am glad that there are petition forms on animal rights.

@LyTyson Hi Yes, there are many online petitions [and offline too I think] related to many causes. I do wonder, however, their overall effectiveness: should we engage in petitions because we should engage in a petition, or should we engage in something in order to make a difference and to actually see the difference?

Hi to you too I think that a combination of the two would be effective…people who are already informed about the issue can take action outside of creating and signing petitions, but petitions are a good way to raise awareness amongst people who don’t know about the cause.
And, in the democratic system, it seems that petitions have the potential to be quite effective.
XD Though, it is amusing to see online petitions like “Get the Jonas brothers to play in Philly!” I guess like all things online, petitions are often used for entertainment.

Do you participate in a lot of petitions?
