The Chanoma Festival is currently playing Akira Kurosawa’s movies in Los Angeles at the Laemmle’s Fairfax Cinemas. If you are interested in Japanese culture and media, this is one of the best opportunities this year to find out more.

The web site has more information about other movies playing after Kurosawa’s collection, along with information about movies playing at till December in Los Angeles. Some movies will also be playing in Pasadena at the Laemmle’s One Colorado Cinemas.

A list of the Japanese movies playing can be found on the Chanoma Festival web site, and tickets can be bought at the respective cinemas or through a list of other places listed on the Chanoma Festival site, including buying the tickets online.

I have been to the festival while it was playing around my county, and I can say it was a splendid collection of movies.
