Physical warning labels Bes thinks should exist

Posted in General by Bes on Jul 29, 2008

A trash warning sign at UC BerkeleyWritten and drawn warning signs: they all probably all around you. They are under your keyboard, behind your monitor, under the mouse, on a battery, on a carton of milk, on the bread packet, on your phone, and even on your cat purchase receipt which may say “This cat may attack you if cornered.” Another sign that many people encounter may not only say “Warning – Wet Surface” but also show you an outlined person falling down on a huge yellow placard sign. Who could have thought that trash cans now are moody and only like certain kinds of trash to be put inside of them?

It is not that such things happen all the time, nor is it that such things never happen. Many of these labels exist in order to reduce the number of lawsuits and legal charges brought against a company for misinformation or for not properly informing the customer or users of certain products. In this article I would like to present to you some warning labels that they should have for physical things, to add not caution to life but fun. Maybe reading such signs may prompt you to do the very thing prohibited in that sign due to finding the sign funny. Who knows. I do, by the way, at least for my ownself.

BesZ’s 15 Physical Warning Labels List

Now you should realize that many times these labels are there when certain situations may result in a customer or a person, like myself, to not fully realize the warning automatically. For example, if a knife has a beautiful, non-standard handle that may look artistic, something happens in my head and without thinking, I usually try to look at that handle, by holding it from the sharp end and not realizing it before doing that. Thus, the below warning signs are for me, probably. I present to you some of the many, many physical warning signs I can think of.

  1. Warning – This milk comes from cows that are made to give milk involuntarily.
  2. Warning – This animal may attack back if attacked.
  3. Warning – After microwaving, this product will be hot.
  4. Warning – These sleeping pills will make you drowsy1.
  5. Warning – Plugging things into the electrical wall socket/outlet will result in electricity being consumed.
  6. Warning – Driving this car may result in you not being in the exact original spot as when you were not driving this car.
  7. Warning – This red wine may cause stain if spilled on some cloth-type texture.
  8. Warning – Putting things other than dirty clothes in this washing machine will cause those things to become wet.
  9. Warning – This knife is sharp and may cut from at least one part of this knife.
  10. Warning – After finishing reading TheReasoner.com website, your watch or clock may still show the exact same time as when you started reading the site, though the author does not know if that is a good or a bad thing.
  11. Warning – Eating the cookies in this box will mean there will be fewer cookies left afterwards than what the store gave you.
  12. Warning – This ice may turn into water after prolonged periods of time outside of a cold freezer.
  13. Warning – This door lock may lock you outside if you do not have the door lock key to unlock the door lock.
  14. Warning – Consuming this food may cause you to not feel as hungry as you did before consuming this food.
  15. Warning – Using your bank account debit card to purchase something may result in your bank account balance to decrease.

There you go: 15 of the many other labels you can start making yourself to put around different things to warn you about different things. I am already working on creating the above and other labels and placing them on many things, though placing the related warnings on the neighborhood cats needs a good plan that I am working on.

Warning – these words exist to tell you that this article is coming to a close

Please let me know if you have any other warning signs you think can come in handy. From the melting ice to the strike at hunger, you can now realize that if you ever encounter the above situations, you can go “OMG! Bes had warned me about this!!”

Thank you for reading.

Good ones. We all know that these idiotic warnings were caused by law suits against the manufacturer as well as against the stores that sell these products. What a waste of time, ink and lawyers who advise the makers of goods.
My favorite is the warning on an steam iron. “Do not iron clothes while you are wearing them”.

remember mister ick? the green icky face dreamed up as a marketing campaign to keep kids from drinking rat poison? they developed it as an alternative to the jolly roger, and did tests proving kids didnt have to read to know what it meant, more cartoons!

Number 11 was my favorite…I swear I’ll eat a whole box of something and then look around suspiciously to see why it is empty! And I like the last one, which hopefully reminds some people that just because it is off of a plastic card, and not out of your wallet in cash, it will still come out of your paycheck!
