Message to friend with one love
While walking through the Berkeley bookstore yesterday to find something interesting to buy and read, I stumbled upon the book, “Violence in War and Peace - An Anthology.” Here is a picture of the book I was holding in my hands:
If I am looking for a used book, I try to get books that have marks, notes, highlights and creases on them, since these would tell me what the previous owner or reader of the book found interesting, or worth remembering. I opened the first page of the book, and saw the following:
It says:
Handwriting from a book at UC BerkeleyDear Girard,
This is Dan. Right now you are not here. I am writing in your book. Now I am leaving, stay black, one love.
Dan
I hope all the books in the world will have notes in them one day. I should start leaving more notes and some messages in my books also, so that someone else can someday enjoy them when they’re looking for a book.
