If I could, I would spend all nights in the fog. Until, of course, I see someone with a hook.

LiveJournal, Microsoft, & others

Posted in General by Bes on Feb 04, 2005

Lots of people are switching over to using LiveJournal or Xanga from their own websites, to post about things. Many college students are using Myspace as a way to “hook” up with others and practicing the art of leaving “wazup” comment on every friends’ post there. Still, other people divide their postings between the two, calling one a diary and the other one a journal. Still, other people post completely on both, mimicking the entries on both of them as a way of supplementing each other. I personally have been offered and even “advised” to switch over. I think I will stay with the oldies for now. Use a single platform that is completely controlled, instead of two that aren’t, at least in my case, to do the same thing.

Kissui is offering 50 Gmail invites. Go and request one there if you are looking for an account with more storage than Yahoo and Hotmail combined.

An interesting link I saw over at Google today: “Nobody Wants Your Film” advertising its trailers.

If you are using Internet Explorer a lot, and would like your Windows system to remain patched, be ready to make all phone calls early next week if you are on a dial up. Microsoft is set to release at least 13 updates on February 8th, in response to the growing criticism by security firms that the software giant is late in releasing patches. That means that people who have been downloading movies for days will have to interrupt downloads if they wish to update; so sad, we know. The size of the updates is not yet known.

Looking at more news articles posted in the last few hours for the updates from Microsoft than the Tsunami, it seems fair that another post be added to the shrinking list of news articles related to the Tsunami except the main ones that keep updating on it every few hours. It seems that the Tsunami news is going to the back burner slowly, and finally for some. All the enthusiasm for helping and providing means of help is going away. Look at the latest news and you will find news postings focusing on Ray Charles release than the Tsunamis. Amazon.com’s Tsunami Donation scheme collected over 15 million dollar in less than 2 weeks. Now, there has been less than 1 million in donation for over 3 weeks. May be we are more concerned about Michael Jackson standing on trial now, or preparing for our taxes. May be we are focusing on the Oscars. Or better yet, may be we are all saving up for a good movie to come out so we can go see some good movie after a long time.
