4th of July 2006

Posted in General by Bes on Jul 05, 2006

The annoying cell phone kept crying as I wasn’t waking up. After turning it off, I got up in order to bid someone close to me a very good farewell early in the morning. Afterwards, I went through the hard task of deciding what to wear for the barbeque later in the day. That task took a good 10 seconds to accomplish, something which I usually accomplish faster on other days. As soon as I started driving, I knew I was fortunate enough to witness nice heat waves that could be converted into very cool breezes by keeping the car windows open.

I arrived at my destination very glad, looking forward to having a very good day. The only thing better than having a good time is having a good time and learning something at the same time. I had not eaten good food for a long time, so yesterday it felt as if I had almost rejuvenated after a long time of experiencing weird health crisis. It’s amazing how having a barbeque with guys not holding beer and talking about girls all day seems to be a healthier alternative to the typical stereotypical trend.

The fireworks made me wonder as to why there aren’t more days like this one, where people having fun blowing up firecrackers are looked upon as diabolical wizards who are out to purposefully annoy annoying neighbors. The only thing better than seeing fireworks right in front of you is listening to dozens and dozens of gunshots disguised as fireworks. If you can’t hear the fireworks, you can surely see them from the hilly areas, where gunshots will produce completely different sparks compared to the fireworks around them, even at a distance. Some people light up crackers to make sounds and beautiful displays, while others send big steel needles into the skies to achieve similar results. Should licenses be required for fireworks, or should guns be allowed in only certain cities to individuals over 16 years of age?

I forgot to bring any of the barbequed food back home with me for a future feast. Hunger seems like a better alternative to fast food when you’ve recently tasted extremely good food.

How did your 4th of July go, regardless of your view on celebrating any supposedly special day?

Okay, I need more details Wink

We aren’t allowed to shoot fireworks in the city limits here. A lot of places are like this. The only ones that get to do that is the city for the display at the park. And while we were waiting for that, some boys down the hill were shooting them and their crowd kept growing and before long they were shooting them parallel with the ground in all sorts of directions. It wasn’t too much longer after that that they got in trouble by a cop who hopped the fence to get to them. Razz

My 4th was good though, but I guess you already knew that. Smile
