Do you rely too much on technology?
You rely on technology almost every hour of your day, and for a good reason: technology helps you get things done, done easier, safer or faster. Without that stove, you would have to have a first on your carpet to cook that chicken. Without a scooter, you would have to walk up that hill for 30 minutes. Without that remote control, you would have to get up and change the channel or volume every 30 seconds you got bored with a channel or a program. Technology helps. You may, however, be relying on technology so much that you may be thinking, correctly or incorrectly, that life without technology is horrible.
Are you relying on technology too much? Here are 10 examples of signs that technology may be enjoying every day having you rely on it too much.
10 Signs You May be Relying Too Much on Technology
- Without a GPS or Google Maps, you do not know how to get to your work, school or the grocery store down the road.
- If your phone dies, you have no way of contacting any friend nor do you have any way of telling who still keeps in touch with you.
- If your internet connection dies, you do not know what to do for at least 10 hours that day.
- If your TV dies, you have no idea how to be happy or if the world still has living people.
- If your car dies, you realize you will die from starvation or boredom unless you call a mechanic.
- If your laptop dies, your entire life stops and gets a new purpose to fix your laptop or get a new one.
- Without an internet connection, you have no source of income.
- Without a vacuum cleaner, there is no way to clean anything for you.
- Without a washer and dryer around regularly, you either buy more new clothes or you wear dirty clothes more.
- Without a watch, you do not know what to do in your daily life at what times or when to go to a bathroom.

As someone in the IT field, I'm quite surprised that a lot of those questions have answers of "No, I'd be fine." with the lone one being iif the internet died, what with my line of work following it and all.
Hate to say it but yes, yes i do.
Without internet connection i would definitely be without an income. But for the rest of them i'd say that the answer is NO, so I am not relying on technology to much.
I consider myself as a Tech Guy. But your questions are way too far from saying yes. For me it's all "no". I can still manage my life even without that Technology Question you got. Technology is just "add on" to our lives. Anyway, nice and intriguing questions you got their my friend. It really catches my attention. Thanks for posting your blog.
I really like you think everybody informational blogs, this type of information will have everyone even if they have opened. I would firstly like to congratulate the blog owner. We have completed our own issues with the missing. Thank you very much!

Yes I do but I can make do without a lot of the things you mentioned, my big fear is about how I pay bills online. I'm afraid that if something happens to me, ie, I DIE, and the husband has to start paying bills, he's gonna have a lot of trouble doing it. I mean, for some he can grab the checkbook and pay them but most of our bills don't come through the mail anymore, just online. I actually think about this more than I probably should but I need to figure out a way to provision for if something does happen to me.
Good article. It is as good as saying, there is a major powercut in the city so no electricity for 16 hours, car is very low on petrol and the local petrol station doesnot have backup generator to run the pumps. So basically that will leave with nothing to do for people who don't have newspapers, books or magazines. Hmmmmmmmmmm what to do now, most people couldn't even play outdoor sports and if they can than would be hard to find others who will play. So what next……………………………SLEEP……… FOR 16 HOURS……..DING.16 hours are up but there would be delay for another 5 hours due to lorry carrying the GRID supplies broke down. NOW WHAT………what do u expect i am not a "Thriller Novel" writer. Actually it is a good idea for a thriller novel just replace SLEEP with KILLER ON THE LOOSE or LOOSE BRAIN, KILLER. Nice article, couldn't resist my story telling temptations. Oh yes the power is back. DING. TV is on………LOL.
What a nice post friend…for me I don't rely too much on technology. Because I can live, I can do anything I want to do, I can enjoy my day without spending too much on technology. There are things that technology is very useful but there are times that abusing it has a bad effect to us users. So we should always remember the good and bad side of technology.
I rely too much on my cell phone and internet connection, without these two it’s very difficult for me to survive and I often feel lonely in the world. These two things connects me with my friends, family and rest of the world.
Yes, I do… Since I'm a member in too many communities…
With the advancement of technology,it has become a part of human life, without which humans can't exist…
The problem I see is what happens if a disaster or terror type even wipes out some or part of the internet infrastructure that we've grown to depend on? Could you even buy groceries?
I CONSTANTLY rely to heavily on technology. I sometimes think i wouldn't even be able to survive without my cellphone. I don't see how people made it just 20 years ago.
Yes, I've started using my phone for directions when I travel instead of asking real people !!! lol
I have read all the questions and i do not feel like i rely to much on technology. Yes, i use computers for homework, but i rarely use a phone because i decided to shut mine off. I rarely watch tv because im always studying (out of a book and not a computer need i remind you). I also know my way around and i always find solutions to things in one way or another, whether its using technology or not. I am not just saying that i don’t rely on technology alot because it looks better but i am being brutaly honest. My sister actually is though, she cannot live without her phone and any type of social network or television. I recently wrote an argumentative paper on how society should be technologically dependent and i found it to be an eye opener when i wrote it. I showed me how much this world would really suffer if we didn’t have alot of technology and that includes medical technology. I agree with you, technology is everywhere and honestly its going to be there whether we like it or not. I am glad that you had posted this because it let me know that i wasn’t the only one wondering if we were too dependent on technology or not.
Why would you need a watch to tell you when to go to the bathroom?
These are all extreme suggestions – no one would die from starvation without a car. As if we are helpless babies without a bloody vacuum cleaner – ridiculous.
Unfortunately Yes. we all reply on technology so much that it would be difficult to leave without it now.
