I’ve never eaten at the restaurant she works at. Yesterday, she emailed me to ask if I would like to go there this coming week, as she could have me order things for free while she worked, and she could also sit with me whenever possible. I would like to go there for three main reasons. First, I like thai food. Second, it would be free food. Third, I like hanging out with interesting people.

She is a good person who does not hold grudges in conversations, so she acts normally and likes to mention from time to time how things may have been different had we been dating. However, I’m also wondering if she would mix anything in my food or drink because I had refused to go on a date with her, or proceed further into the romantic field. I joked about this with her, and she laughed it off, though I’m still wondering. Maybe she was not thinking about it, and now my joke has put the idea in her head.

What do you think? If you were in this situation, would you go and eat food at that place, feeling comfortable with anything you ate or drank? I’m sure she means me no harm, and I’m sure that even if she is forced by her uncontrollable inner self to mix something in my food, it won’t be poisonous? Would it be bad if I rejected kissing a beautiful girl long time ago, just to end up drinking her spit through a glass of water? hmmmmm >< hmmmmm. What are your views on this?

Even if you buy a movie ticket online, you still have to take a printout of your receipt and exchange that for a real ticket. Why can’t the movie theatres have their staff, that checks your ticket at the main door, check your printout and let you in immediately? What is the use of standing in a line when all you wanted to do in the first place was not to stand in such a line?

Sure, once you order a ticket online, you can rest assured that you won’t have to deal with sold out shows. However, the main purpose of buying tickets online is to save time and to reduce the hassle of standing in a line. Compared to people who go to a theatre and buy tickets in person, you in fact spend more time buying a ticket online and then redeeming a printout for a ticket in person at the theatre.

What is your opinion on this? Have you ever bought tickets online, or used one of the express lanes/lines at movie theatres to buy a ticket? Do you think such services serve their purpose well, or do you think they have something missing and can be improved?

To make a quick transition away from the topic of movie lines, let’s think about food. Here is a picture of some fruits in a fruit bowl, taken a few hours ago. Visible in the picture are 2 bananas, 5 oranges and 2 apples. They’ll all disappear within 24 hours, hopefully.

How many restaurants have you eaten at, where the waiters and waitresses don’t smile, and neither do the hosts, the people that seat you? It would be interesting to think about it, since I myself rarely encounter people who smile at restaurants, unless it’s a really fancy place where one has to smile in order to keep their job. In ads, however, whether on TV or in magazines and newspapers, I always see someone smile while they carry a big tray of delicious-looking food.

If the workers don’t smile in reality, are the advertisers betting that the customers are so stupid, they will not think of what they saw in an advertisement, which was very good hospitality? That means that in reality, the advertisement tells you that good hospitality and good food is what you would get. In reality, the focus of customers is somehow bent towards good food.

Many people do realize that waiters people are not smiling or acting just plain rude, and of course the tip goes down the hill because of that. My focus in this post is not on the smile itself; it’s on the advertisement and something it shows that’s non-existent in reality. However, seldom do we try to think why the advertising was showing us a different picture, and how we can voice our opinion about it.

The person in Japan got the letter in 2 days. I got the letter in 6 days. How can something be delivered to another country faster than to an address within the same state, when both items were sent on the same day and using the same delivery method? It’s a real mystery.

Inside, I ordered a #2, plain, and asked the cashier why they didn’t have a drive thru. He said that the city of Fullerton allows only a number of drive thru establishments in the city; that’s why this specific location was singled out. The guy did not know why this was the case.

Two big reasons come to mind that could account for this. First, safety could be a factor, as having drive thrus could attract more drive thru robberies or shootings. Second, having drive thrus may entice people to order food without dining in. This second theoretical reason, however, doesn’t explain how dining in would make more money. Still, it would be interesting to know why drive thrus are limited in cities. It would be interesting also to find out if such a limitation extends to all the cities, or to certain cities. I’ve been trying to look online as to why this is the case, and so far, have not found any reason or information on this.

How about you and your experience at drive thrus? Do you have fast food locations in your city or area which do not have a drive thru? Do such places attract a lot of dine in people? Do you know why cities would limit the number of drive thrus?

Was the movie, “The Sentinel“, worth it? I’m not sure, considering I could have danced for 2 hours in the rain instead. It was an “ok” movie. Nothing to get excited about, and also, nothing to consider a refund for either.

Here’s a picture I worked on a bit; it’s still in early stages of what I really want to accomplish. Please let me know what you think about it, or of it. Apples appear prettier than windows at the moment. And juicier too.

I feel crippled with Windows, somehow, just like I feel crippled in real life. I go to computer labs and I’m asked if I know how to use an iMac. I reply with a YES, and then I proceed to a Windows station. That sucks; the right click is an addiction, and the maximize and minimize and copy-paste controls have spoiled me. The Alt+Tab has spoiled me. Normal program placements and typical folders installation and shortcuts have spoiled me. I want to abandon it all. I want to convert to a Mac environment. I hate Windows so much, I sometimes think I’ll end up boarding all the windows in my home just to stop hating Windows so much!

The uninstall window is still open. It’s been well over 3 hours now. I worked on different things, visited more than a 100 blogs and sites and the damned thing is still alive. It’s just not doing anything. Should I blame Windows? Should I blame the program itself? Let’s hope the stupid Visa has better security and stability, and efficiency, than some stupid visual effects that will be shown to people who pay for the program. Yeah, like that matters. How about throwing in a crash or two, even few hours to people who pirate, and for people who pay the damn money for the damned software, have a STABLE Windows version that does NOT crash and that does not need an update and a few patches to every Windows component every few weeks or so?

Bleeekh! CTRL+ALT+DEL to end this hanging uninstaller. My registry has been molested and disfigured a million times already! Die uninstaller DIE!

Should things be written without hiding any piece of information? That would result in everything being written, resulting in the whole personal life becoming everyone’s business. With password protected entries, anything can be discussed on the site, both personal and non-personal. A third approach would be to discuss many things that are non-personal in the open, like right now, and some personal things in password protected entries. I personally like to write everything that I can say face to face also. So far, nothing I’ve written on this site is hidden from anyone. I don’t like the feeling “Oh, what if he/she reads that entry?” I would prefer to write in the open so nothing is hidden, and anyone involved in any story I mention knows that I’m saying it.

Now, with password protected entry or a normal entry, one can always conceal the real names and very specific details about something and some people, to make sure that no one is clearly and directly identified, nor linked, to any posted story.

It becomes a question of ethics; what should be discussed, or what should not be discussed? What do you think? Are password protected entries the way to go? Should personal life and analysis ever be discussed online? Did you ever think of the choices to make when posting password protected entries, and personal stories, online?

The spiral formation was really beautiful and I wanted to take a picture that showed the closeup of a part of one of the pieces, while showing everything else as a background image. This is the best I could do with the settings I wanted; I had to hold the camera as steady as possible, above me, as the pieces were hanging from the ceiling and I do not have a tripod, yet.

Hmmm, it’s been several hours, and I’m hungry. Carls Jr. is the only thing nearby. Darn. Fine. Whatever. I’m starving. I don’t care if these dollars pump a capitalist wallet or kill another cow. Just want something in my stomach. The line is really short, good. I’m feeling lucky for some reason, even though I’m about to be slaughtered soon. Hmmmm, what the heck is around that guys neck? Get closer, a little bit.

A chain with an actual 5 inch lock? What the heck? Hmmmm, he’s looking, look the other way. Ok, now he’s smiling. Crap. And he’s gay. The only gay guy within 50 miles, probably, and I’m the lucky one whom he wants to open that lock. Man, too bad I’m really hungry, otherwise I would throw up. Hmmmm, he does brush his teeth though. Grrrr, where’ my sandwich, I don’t like feeling how girls feel when hit no by creeps. Please. My sandwich.

Ok, good, it’s so nice under the shade. A small headache coming. Oh boy, somehow the body really hates fast food now. Ok, what’s this? The lock-locket boy sits next to my shade. Ok, this is weird. Just eat. Oh man, the headache. Crap, even the lemonade doesn’t help. How come I’m getting headache after eating this juicy meat? I wonder what this meat has inside it. Hmmmmm, is it only cow in here, or some mutated beast too? Aaaaah, can’t eat the last bite. “Are you using that napkin?” What the hell, who says that? Oh man, it’s the locket boy. Aaaah please, it’s my table, my napkin. I took it because I wanna use it, right? I have this headache, go away, I don’t want to be hit on, nor talked to. I’m antisocial now, because I can be, and I chose to me. Come to me after 10 minutes. Or even 5. But not now. Oh, the headache. This lemonade doesn’t do anything.

“Can I have that napkin?” Oh man, this last bite is stuck in my mouth and he wants napkins. He can’t reach for the napkin bin just a few feet away, but he has to ask me for the napkin that I’m about to use. Oh man. Just give it to him. End the suffering. I have to chew this meat and at the same time I have to tell this guy I’m not interested. “Here, you can have it.” Give it to him. Good, he’s smiling, just go away. This last bite has been in my mouth for 2 minutes and I can’t chew. The damn headache! Sheeeesh. This lemonade sucks. Why is it pink? Why the heck is it pink? Oh man, should I throw up? Am I getting old? Distract yourself, distract yourself. Look around. Ok, ATM machine. Doors. Black doors. So clean, good work. Locket with an actual locked lock on a guy, and he’s smiling at me. Oh! Must be the shirt! Good good! I ate it. I ate the bite. Just relax, relax. Close your eyes. Gooood.

Good, let’s go. On to the next appointment. A few minutes of walking and water should fix things. Gooooooood. These sunglasses rock, let’s go. Is he following? No, ok, good, ooooh.

Ok, put a picture up. Which picture? Hmmm, how about a picture of the car? Nah, not tonight. How about a picture of myself? One day, though not today. How about this flower, taken in Berkeley earlier this year? Yep, put more pictures from the past to ease the backlog.
