Christmas Eve, & Chocolate - 200512.23.05

Hmmm, Christmas eve is tomorrow night. For many people, Christmas celebration begins on Christmas Eve and Christmas day continues the celebration. The BART is sometimes full of people, and sometimes there are a few scattered people. There should be many people using the BART tomorrow, as it’s Christmas eve and people will be either doing last minute shopping or going to their final destinations for the weekend.

Asking for directions in Berkeley12.22.05

Berkeley is a very interesting place and I like it. People here protest against everything conservative. Anti-abortion, anti-prostitution-ban, anti-same-sex-ban, anti-pollution, anti-control. One thing Berkeley isn’t liberal in is giving simple directions. Ask any person directions to a place nearby and they’ll have a hard time acting nice and giving you directions at the same time. Ask the same person directions to something about 50 or more miles away and they’ll either tell you they don’t know or answer the question as if giving directions to strangers was their favorite hobby. It’s as if they loathe anyone from the outside to come and enjoy the city itself, but they’re happy to tell these outsiders to go away to other places.

Life & life - end of 200512.20.05

Well well well, I’ve the time to write now. It’s cold here, and yesterday it rained a lot. It was beautiful.

It’s so interesting how a place can look so different and everyone can feel so different when your mind is looking at things differently. Some people are friendly, while others mind their own business. Still, others don’t want to socialize. Same as anywhere else on earth. Same as with all the people I know all over the world. It’s really interesting.

Traveling – December12.16.05

So here I am, in Berkeley to help someone and to find a temporary job. It’s cold here, and very nice. Many weird things have happened already, and I haven’t even been here for 24 hours now. Oakland, San Francisco, Emeryville are all the venues that I’ll definitely visit in the next 72 hours, and I don’t have a car. =\

Life’s short, and fun is scarce. Responsibilities are many, and fun is still scarce. So, what’s the solution to this? Depends on what the issue or the problem is. Not much fun or relaxation, or even peace, is the issue. The solution? To find peace in everything that’s already happening in addition to making things better. Someone playing their radio loud next to you and you’re tired? Let’s deal with it, close our eyes and try to drown ourselves in our thoughts, so that the noise becomes a distance echo.

I’ll try visiting all your sites tomorrow or after tomorrow; right now, I’m trying to do some things which are necessary and not much fun. I don’t think I remember all my username and passwords, or the combination of words or signatures I used for posting on your site, so if my comments seem a little different, it’s just me acting weird, not the comment box.

Hope everyone is doing well. If anyone lives in Berkeley or surrounding area, let me know. :) We can go eat McDonald’s or have a crepe+coffee or something. I’m bored, I think

Renting, and Cartel landlords12.13.05

I posted an ad on Craigslist looking for a place to stay at while I’m traveling. I posted the dates I need a place for, and the amount of money I’m willing to spend. In response to my ad, I got several emails by people who’re willing to rent me their apartments or rooms.

Weekly perspective - December 11th, 200512.11.05

The past week has been a very busy one for me. I’ve had more things to do, more seminars and lectures to go to, more work and assignments to start and finish, and more friends to hang out with in the past several days.

Rejecting someone who asked me out12.10.05

I’m a guy, as most of you already know from my profile, and I got asked out by someone yesterday. A dinner, drinks, and then an offer to stay the night over at their house, if I wished, was proposed to me. “Yay, Yippeee, Woohoo!” Right? Wrong. Even if you’re already with someone or thinking of someone else, you sometimes feel a kind of subliminal joy or satisfaction, that you’re good enough to attract others, whether you’re asked out directly or indirectly. What if the person who asked you out is considered “HOT” by many other people? Would you be saying “No” immediately if you weren’t interested, or would you be thinking about being polite and maintaining your friendship? For me, even though getting asked out may have been a small honor, somehow I felt really weird and uneasy. Why? The most obvious reason, after the fact that I’m dedicated to someone else mentally, was that the person who asked me out was a guy. And I’m not gay. I’m not Bi either.

Evil designated drivers - type 112.09.05

I know a few people who like to become designated drivers on the spot for their drunk friends. These people will insist that you, the drinking drunk friend, shouldn’t drive and that you can count on them to not get into an accident when they drive you home. These people won’t drink the whole night, and then will wait to drive your car in every illegal way possible. These are one of the several types of bad, self appointed designated drivers in this world.

Lego Bible12.09.05

Are you interested in the Bible, in any way? Now, are you interested in Lego, in any way, like the LEGOLAND? How about both of them together? Visit “The Brick Testament“, which is an explanation of each and every sentence in the Bible through Lego. Cute for many, I’m sure.

People calling during boredom12.08.05

Ever have people calling you after a long time and telling you that you’ve been busy, when they themselves haven’t called you either? Ever have such friends talk to you as if they’ve missed talking to you, yet you get the feeling that they only called you because they were bored or wanted something? Ever have such friends talk to you only for a minute or two and them telling you that they were simply outside their house and decided to call you since you’ve been busy and won’t have time to call them, when in reality it’s them who’ve been acting busy, and then they ask you for a favor or you hear someone say in the background, on their end of the line, say “Ma’am, your turn”, and then your friend telling you that they called to say hi and will let you go and will call you back the same day to talk in detail, and never do until weeks later when they’re bored again?

Yep, me neither.

‘Tis the season to stop saying ‘Tis12.07.05

The next time anyone says ‘Tis, the next time any ad says “‘Tis the season to buy a new Lexus“, the next time the radio beeps “‘Tis the season to get new clothes from Macy’s“, the next time the newspaper reads out loud “‘Tis the time to get a new bank loan with low rates“, the next time my answering machine has unwanted messages that say “‘Tis the time to look at reducing your mortgage payments“, and the next time any person says the word “‘Tis“, I’m going to close my eyes and say “‘Tis the time to shut up for no reason at all.

Big lines for free Krispy Kreme doughnuts12.06.05

Sunday night I drove by a Krispy Kreme. There were probably over 100 high school students standing in 2 long lines outside the store. They were all waiting for a free donut, as there was a big sign saying something along the lines of “Free glazed doughnut at 9 pm” hanging outside the store.
