Getting your future domain hijacked legally

I register several domain names every week. I use different tools for finding the availability of domain names, and to get suggestions over similar domain names that may be available. Recently, I started using whois.sc for this, as it was really easy to use [for example, typing in whois.sc/domain.com shows you details about domain.com, and whether it's available or not]. Several times, however, any available domain name that I did not register after searching for it through Whois.sc, was registered within 48 hours by different individuals and organizations.

Comments and site owners

Comments used to have an ancestor, called guestbooks. These guestbooks were separate sections on a site where anyone, and everyone, left a comment about anything. Almost every website had a guestbook once. Then these guestbooks were somehow overtaken by emails, with every person using email to contact the site owners. Now we have the concept of comments, in which each piece of content has a place where someone can leave a comment about a particular piece of information. A comment, in my view, should be possible in many other ways also; email, comments to posts, and through other online mediums such as instant messengers.

Decorating your house

Since I can’t walk and have nothing better to do, I’ve been looking at things which I didn’t have time to look for before. That includes decorations around the house. I found a site with some pictures of the “rejected” home decoration from Europe, from the 70′s. Try to see how many things actually do look good, and how we have one or more of the same things in the pictures, in our homes today.

Some of the color matches and designs look really weird even today. Others, however, look really cool and can be used in a movie or something similar to show some kind of an atmosphere. You can probably use it in your home also, or somewhere to run an experiment. :)

Knowledge and sales

I went to Walgreens late last night to pick up some more medicine. The lady at the counter asked for my last name and easily found my order, sitting all alone under the letter it was categorized under. She came over and told me the total was $89. I paid and asked her on how I should take the medication. She looked at the package name, repeated the name of the medicine and explained to me, while still looking at the package, that I needed to take one of the medications twice daily, with food or breakfast, and the other one every 6 hours, with or without food.

I thought she was knowledgeable, and thanked her after she handed me the package. While walking out of the store, I looked at the package and saw the following two lines in huge letters, one for each medication “to be taken by mouth, every 6 hours, with or without food” and “to be taken by mouth, twice daily, with food or breakfast.”

Halloween story #1

I was out with a friend of mine, trying to find a place to eat after coming back from the hospital. My friend had decided to stop by the hospital to pick me up, and wanted to “hang out” with me. I had just undergone several x-rays to see if the pain in my body was because of broken or misplaced bones, or if I had a crack in my skull and I needed mental therapy. I was looking out the window at different options, including several fast food places that we were passing by. So many fast food places had never seemed so attractive before; the accident had probably been beneficial in a sense, too.

Friends on hiatus

Ever have friends who keep asking you for [and getting] favors for over 5 years, and then when you get into an accident, not only do they not answer the phone for the fear of being asked to give you a ride since you’re disabled temporarily, but on top of that they answer the phone saying “Oh my god, I’m so sick/got-into-an-accident/have-flu and can’t drive”, even before you say that you only called to say hi and don’t need any favors as you’re disabled well enough to not be able to go out that much?

Yep, me neither.
